AWS Services Scale to New Heights for Prime Day 2025: Key metrics and milestones Amazon Web Services

The Amazon Prime Day 2025 was the largest Amazon Prime Day shopping event, where the volume of sales and total items sold during a four -day event could be recorded. Prime members saved billions on shopping for Amazon millions of stores during the event.

This year it meant a significant transformation of experience with the main day through progress in generative AI offers from AMAZON and AWS. Customers used Alexa+-amployment assistant Amazon, which is now available in an early access to millions of customers-space with AI shopping assistant, rufus and AI shopping guide. These functions, which have been based on AWS, in combination with deep retail and consumer experiences from Amazon, have helped customers quickly discover offers and get information about products and add fast and free delivery that the main members enjoy throughout the year.

As part of our annual tradition, we will tell you how AWS has powered Prime Day for record sales, I want to share metrics of services and graphs from AWS that allowed your amazing shopping experience.

Prime Day 2025 – All Numbers
During weeks leading to large shopping events such as Prime Day, the Amazon of the Center and Delivery Station operates to prepare and ensure that operations run efficiently and safely. For example, the automated storage system and Amazon (ASRS) searches the global fleet of industrial mobile robots that move the goods around the Amazon Reffilment Centers.

Outposts AWS, a fully managed service that expands the AWS experiences, Powers software applications that manage the command and control of Amazon ASR and support deliveries on the same day and the next day through low latency processing of critical robotic commands.

During the Prime Day 2025, AWS sent bases in one of the largest Amazon centers to fulfill more than 524 million orders of more than 7,000 robots, reaching the top volumes of 8 million orders per hour – 160 percent compared to the Prime Day 2024.

Here are some more interesting metrics of stunning minds:

  • Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) – During the Prime Day 2025, AWS Graviton, the processor family designed to provide the best price performance for cloud workload running in AMAZON EC2, powered by more than 40 percent of the AMAZON EC2 Compute used by Amazon.com. Amazon also deployed over 87,000 AWS Invorentia and AWS Trainium Chips – own silicone chips for deep learning and generative training and inference AI – to power Amazon Rufus on the main day.
  • Amazon Sagemaker AI -Amazon Sagemaker AI, a fully managed service that brings together a wide set of tools that enable high -performance, cheap machine learning (ML), processing more than 626 billion applications for inference during the Prime Day 2025.
  • Amazon Elastic Container Service (AMAZON ECS) and AWS FARGATE– Amazon Elastic Container Service (AMAZON ECS) is a fully administered orchestration service service that works without problems with AWS Fargate, without a server with a computing engine for containers. During the Prime Day 2025, AMAZON ECS launched an average of 18.4 million tasks on AWS Fargate, an increase of 77 percent compared to the average day of the previous year.
  • AWS failure service (AWS FIS) – We conducted over 6,800 AWS FIS experiments – over eight times more than we did in 2024 – to test resistance and ensure that Amazon.com would remain highly available on the main day. This significant increase could have been made using two enhancements: AMAZON ECS support for experiments with network injections at AWS Fargate and FIS integration integration in continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline.
  • AWS LAMBDA – AWS Lambda, without Compute Service, which allows you to start the code without infrastructure management, processed over 1.7 trillion daily during the Prime Day 2025.
  • Amazon API Gateway – During the main day of 2025 Amazon API Gateway, a fully managed service that makes it easier to create, maintain and security of the API on any scale, processes more than 1 trillion applications for internal services – 30 % increase in requirements daily compared to Prime Day 2024.
  • Amazon cloudfront – Amazon Cloudfront, content supply service (CDN), which safely provides low latency content and high transmission speed, delivered more than 3 trillion requirements of HTTP requirements during the Global Week Prime Day 2025, which is 43 percent of the 2024.
  • Amazon Elastic Block Store (Amazon EBS) -During Prime Day 2025, Amazon EBS, our high -performance storage service, reached a peak at 20.3 trillion I/O operations and moved daily on data.
  • Amazon Aurora – In Prime Day Amazon Aurora, a relational database management system (RDBMS) built for high performance and availability on a global scale for PostgreSQL, MySQL and DSQL, processed 500 billion transactions, stored 4,071 data tabytes and transferred 999 data.
  • Amazon Dynamodb -Amazon Dynadodb, without server, fully managed, distributed Nosql database, drive more features and systems with high Amazon operation, including Alexa, Amazon.com and all Amazon Centers. During the main day, these sources made dozens of trillion calls to the Dynamodb API interface. Dynamodb maintained high availability and provided a one -digit millisecond response and the peak at 151 million requirements per second.
  • Amazon elasticache – During Prime Day, Amazon Elasticache, a fully managed cache storage service, which provides microsecond latency, has reached a top of more than 1.5 quadrilion of daily requirements, and more than 1.4 trillion requirements per minute.
  • Amazon kinesis data streams – Amazon Kinesis Data Streams, a fully managed streaming service without servers, processed the peak of 807 million records per second during the Prime Day 2025.
  • Amazon Simple Queue Service (Amazon SQS) – During the Prime Day 2025, Amazon SQS – a fully managed queue service service for micro -checks, distributed systems and applications without servers – sets a new top -class traffic record of 166 million messages per second.
  • Amazon Guarddutes – During the Prime Day 2025, the Amazon Guardduty, an intelligent detection service, watched an average of 8.9 trillion protocol per hour, 48.9 percent of an increase compared to last year’s main day.
  • AWS cloudtrail – AWS Cloudtrail, which monitors user activity and API’s use on AWS, as well as in hybrid and multi -shaded environments, processed more than 2.5 trillion events during the Prime Day 2025 compared to 976 billion events in 2024.

Prepare for a scale
If you are preparing for similar business events, launch, launching products and migration, I recommend that you take advantage of our newly branded AWS countdowns (formerly known as AWS Infrastructure Management or IEM). This comprehensive support program helps to assess operational readiness, identify and mitigate risks and plan capacity using proven AWS experts. We have expanded to: Generative support of AI implementation that will help you to start and scaling AI with certainty; support for migration and modernization, including the modernization of mainframes; and optimization of infrastructure for specialized sectors including electoral systems, retail operations, medical services and sports and game events.

I look forward to seeing what other records will be interrupted next year!
