AWS Weekly Roundup: AWS Transform, Amazon Neptun and others (September 8, 2025) | Amazon Web Services

The summer approached here in Utrecht, where I live in the Netherlands. In two weeks I will participate in the AWS Community Day 2025, held in Kinepolis Jaarbeurs Utrecht September 24th. One -day event will combine more than 500 cloud practices from all over the Netherlands and present 25 escape sessions across five technical tracks. The day will begin with virtual key notes at 9:00, followed by parallel escape relations focused on practical implementation of architectures without servers and optimizing container strategies and providing valuable knowledge regardless of the level of experience.

Last year’s AWS Community Day, Netherlands 2024, combined a diverse group of cloud practitioners, speakers and AWS enthusiasts who contributed to the community conference to become a valuable platform of knowledge sharing. If you are going to participate, do not hesitate to find me to discuss AWS services or share your experience with cloud implementation!

Let’s look at the new announcements last week.

Start of Last Week

The AWS transformation rating now includes a separate repository analysis -Aws Transform has expanded its evaluation skills and analyzed the internet storage infrastructure that helped customers to determine the total cost of ownership (TCO). The evaluation now evaluates the storage network (SAN), network storage (NAS), file servers, object storage and virtual environment and provides migration recommendations of suitable AWS services including Amazon S3, Amazon EBS and Amazon FSX. This tool provides a comprehensive comparison of TCO between current and AWS environments along with recommendations for performance and cost optimization. With storage, which represents up to 45% of overall migration opportunities, helps customers visualize different AWS migration options. The AWS Transform is available in US East (N. Virginia) and Europe (Frankfurt).

Amazon Bedrock is the global inference of cross regions for anthropic Claude Sonet 4-Model Claude Sonet 4 Anthropic in Amazon Bedrock now supports global inference between the region, allowing inference requests to head towards any supporting AWS for processing. This improvement optimizes the available sources and allows for higher transmittance of the model distribution model across multiple regions. Previously, you could choose the profiles of inference regions linked to specific geography (USA, EU or APAC). The new profile of the global inference between the region provides additional flexibility for generative cases of AI use that does not require processing specific to geography, helping to manage unplanned traffic break and increase the permeability of the model. Detailed instructions for implementation can be found on Amazon Bedrock documentation.

Amazon Neptune database adds public endpoint support – Amazon Neptune now supports public end points, allowing direct connection to Neptune databases from the outside of VPC without comprehensive network configurations. This feature helps developers to safely access their graphics databases from development desktop computers without required to connect VPN or host bastions, while maintaining security via IAM verification, VPC security groups and encryption in transit. Public endpoints can be allowed for Neptune clusters running the version 1.4.6 or higher through the AWS, AWS cli or AWS SDKs console. This feature is available without additional costs above the Neptune standard prices in all AWS regions where the Neptune database is offered. Details of implementation are available in Amazon Neptune documentation.

ECS Exec now available in AWS Management Console – AMAZON ECS now supports ECS Exec directly in the AWS Management Console, allowing an interactive access to running containers without requireing incoming ports or SSH keys. Previously, only available through API, CLI or SDKS, this feature makes problems eliminating by allowing the container access directly from the console interface. You can enable the ECS Exec when creating or updating services and separate tasks, and then connect to the containers by selecting “Connect” on the detail page that opens the interactive session via Cloudshell. The console also displays the basic AWS CLI command for use in local terminals. This feature is available in all AWS commercial regions and documented in the ECS developer.

Configuring organizational notifications for AWS user notifications are now generally available – AWS user notifications now support organizational notification configurations and help AWS users centrally configure and view notifications throughout their organization. Administration accounts or delegated administrators can configure notifications for specific organizational units or all accounts in the organization. The service supports notifications configuration for any supported Amazon Eventbridge event, such as MFA Console Login, with notifications in the ADSOLE ADMENTRATION Center and mobile applications. User notifications support up to five delegated administrators and are available in all AWS regions where AWS users are offered. For details on implementation, see the AWS User User Handbook.
