My LinkedIn source was absolutely packed this week’s pictures from the AWS Heroes Summit in Seattle. It was cordial to see so many familiar faces and new heroes.

For those who are not familiar with the AWS Heroes program, it is a global initiative for community recognition that honors individuals who contribute to the AWS community. These heroes share their deep knowledge of AWS by creating content, talking about events, organizing community assemblies, and contributing to projects with open source code.
The AWS Heroes Summit combines these exceptional communities leaders and provides a unique platform for the exchange of knowledge, networking and cooperation. As someone who regularly interacts with heroes through our AWS initiatives, I always consider these summits invaluable – offer deep technical discussions, timely access to AWS plans, and opportunities to provide direct AWS team feedback. The knowledge and connections at these events are often reflected in better sources and guidance for the wider AWS community.
Start of Last Week
In addition to this inspiring community, there are several AWS starts that caught me:
- AWS extends the V6 Internet V6 (IPv6) support to AWS App Runner, AWS Client VPN and RDS Data API – three more AWS services now support IPv6 connection to help you comply with the regulations and delete the need to process the address processing between IPv4 and IPv6. APS App Runner now supports incoming and outgoing operation based on IPv6 at end points of public and private applications. AWS Client VPN has announced support for remote access to IPv6 workload, allowing you to create a secure VPN connection with your VPC resources with IPv6 support. Finally, the RDS data API now supports IPv6 and allows you to connect dual stack configuration (IPv4 and IPv6) for your Aurora databases.
- This week we launched two new instances families: new storage-optimized i8GE and generally accounting instances of M8i-naš instance i8GE, driven AWS GRATITON4 processors provide up to 60% better computing power compared to their predecessors Graviton2. These instances have a third generation SSD Nitro and provide up to 55% better real -time storage performance on TB and significantly lower I/O latency. With 120 TB of storage and size up to 48xlage (including two metal options), they offer the highest storage density between instances optimized for graviton -based storage. We have also launched the M8i and M8i-Flex instances using its own Intel Xeon 6 processors. These instances bring up to 15% better price and performance and 2.5 times more bandwidth than their predecessors. The M8i-Flex instances are ideal for generally accounting workload available from large to 16xlage. For demanding applications, you can choose from our M8i instances with SAP certification in 13 sizes, of which 2 are bare metal and new 96xlarge size.
- Amazon EC2 Mac dedicated hosts now support the host maintenance and restart-based-you can enable two new capabilities for your host EC2 Mac: revival of the host and maintenance of the host-based host. The host recovery automatically detects potential hardware problems with Mac dedicated hosts and smoothly migrates MAC instances on a new replacement host, minimizing the disturbance of the workload. Host -based host maintenance automatically stops and restarts instances on spare hosts when planned maintenance events occur, eliminating the need for manual intervention during the planned maintenance windows.
- Amazon Q Developer now supports MCP Admin Control – administrators now have the ability to enable or deactivate the functionality of MCP for all Q Developer clients in their organization. When the administrator deactivates functionality, users will not be able to add any MCP servers, nor will there be any previously defined servers initialized.
More AWS messages
Here are several other projects and blog posts that could consider interesting:
- Mastering Amazon Q Developer with Rules – I have read an interesting article about Amazon Q Rules Rules this weekend that I want to share with you. I was attracted by how I deal with the point of pain, which I often encounter when working with AI assistants – I have to repeatedly explain my preferences and coding standards. With the rules you define your preferences once in Markdown files and Amazon Q developer automatically monitors them for every interaction. I especially like how transparent the system is, which shows which rules follow and how it helps to maintain consistency across teams. Since the implementation of the rules in my projects, I have seen more consistent code quality, all and at the same time to reduce the cognitive burden that we must repeatedly explain our standards.
- Strategy for excel across all four Certified Machine Learning – Certification Certification. The AWS Training & Certification Team, where I spent the first three years in AWS, shared how to prepare for AWS Certified Machine Learnification – Special Certification, whether you start from scratch or build on existing AWS certification. They share the prerequisites and instructions to help you prepare for this certification and demonstrate your expertise in creating ML solutions with AWS.
- Like now, our tradition is Prime Day, we shared impressive metrics showing how AWS services have been modified to support one of the largest shopping in the world. The Amazon Prime Day 2025 was the largest ever, setting records for sales volume and total items sold during a four -day event. This year was particularly strange because we noticed a significant transformation in the main day experience through progress in our generative AI offers, while customers were used by Alexa+, Rufus and AI shopping guides to discover offers and get information about the product. The numbers are stunning-amazon Dynamodb processed dozens of trillion API calls while maintaining high availability and providing a single-digit millisecond response and the top of 151 million requirements per second. Amazon API Gateway has processed more than 1 trillion of internal service requirements – 30 % increase in requirements on average daily compared to the main day of 2024.
